Joker's Cap Slots Review

It’s a 10 payline, 5 reel game with some cute cartoonish symbols, and what you see is what you get. This is one for fans of straightforward, less flashy slot games, and we think you’ll like it.

How to Play

Playing Joker’s Cap is as simple as…cracking a joke (we’re not sure what exactly jokers do nowadays, you see). The controls look a tad complicated initially, but they really aren’t. Here’s what you do to start playing:

  • Set your bet: go to the ‘Bet’ button – it’s a circle with the word ‘Bet’ in it, with two arrows around it – one pointing up and one pointing down. Set your bet amount – the minimum bet is 0.10 and the maximum is a rather whopping 20.00.
  • You can’t set the number of lines you’d like to play – you’re stuck playing all 10 lines.
  • When you’re ready, start the spin – you do this by clicking the big green circle with the white clockwise-turning arrow inside it, located on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
  • For autoplay options, click the small circle on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, which has two arrows circling around each other. You have the option to set your game to play automatically for 10, 25, 50, 75 or 100 plays.
  • What’s really amazing is the autoplay selection – you have two extra features which we’ve never seen before in any slot game (and we’ve seen a fair few) – you get to set your autoplay session loss limit – up to 2x the bet, 5x the bet, 10x the bet or 50x the bet, and by clicking on any of them, you’ll see how much you would have to lose in order for this feature to come into play. There’s also the autoplay session single win limit, where you can set up to 10x your bet, 25x the bet, 50x the bet or 75x the bet, meaning that once you’ve hit that number, the autoplay will stop. That’s pretty exciting stuff.

Jackpots

As we mentioned above, Joker’s Cap is a straightforward, no-thrill kind of slot game – and as such, there’s no progressive jackpot attached OR bonus game round. But, if you’re lucky enough to spin the King on all 5 reels, you’ll be looking at a rather nice 1000 coin jackpot win. It’s a medium-high variance game, with an RTP of 96%.

Special Features and Bonuses

While there’s not a lot of special features or a bonus round in Joker’s Cap slots, what’s there does the job nicely.

  • The Wild Scatter: the scatter symbol – the aforementioned Joker’s hat – becomes a Scatter Wild symbol….if you’re lucky enough to roll it, you’ll see two of the surrounding symbols appear wearing little joker hats of their own! The Scatter suddenly substitutes the nearest two symbols to turn into Wild symbols – any wins resulting from this are multiplied 2 x by the current line bet too.

Graphics and Sounds

The graphics are very visually appealing – and that’s before the reels even spin!

The graphic design of the symbols are quite cute, and just the right side of cartoonish. The colours and background of the game also contribute to the Medieval-feel of the whole thing, with a castle in the background, and orange-ish colours you would associate with the time period.

When you land a winning combination, the symbols will animate nicely too – the horse bobs his head; the Joker laughs – it’s all great fun!

The sounds also lend themselves to the atmosphere too. There’s some jangly, bell-heavy music – similar to what you’d expect if a joker started moving around, really – and when you win a  combination, the bell ringing gets pretty intense.

Conclusion

Overall, this is not a slot for everyone – people who play for the bonus games and stay for the extra features won’t have much in the way to get excited about here. But, if you like your slot games no-thrills, then Joker’s Cap is perfect for you.
