How to Play

Major Millions is one of the simpler games out there and that is a big part of its appeal. While the most common version is five reels, there is also a three-reel version of the Major Millions slot linked to the same jackpot.

The first step is to choose your bet. Major Millions has a max bet size of 300 coins, and to be eligible for the progressive jackpot you need to bet at least 15 coins. You can choose the amount to bet using the + and – buttons, or just click on Max Bet to bet the full 300 coins.

Once you have placed your bet and spun the wheel, you can find out if you’ve won. Three or more of the same symbol on an active payline will get you a payout. The symbols are all in keeping with the military style theme and include planes, tanks, warships, binoculars and the Major’s cap.

As well as the main symbols, the game also features a number of special symbols including the explosion with the word ‘scatter’ inside it and the Major Millions casino game symbol that acts as a wild card. If you get three or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels you will get a payout.

The wild symbol can substitute for any other symbol in the game except for the scatter symbol. It can also trigger a win in its own right, if you get three or more in a spin. On top of all this, the wild symbol is also the key to hitting the major jackpot and the really big progressive money.

Jackpots

The Major Millions jackpot is not a huge as other progressives like Mega Moolah but it’s still very lucrative with a minimum of £250,000 per win. Some lucky players have gone on to win payouts of well over £1 million and with a max bet of only 300 coins, this is a very good return.

There is no bonus jackpot round in Major Millions, and it’s very simple to see if you’ve won the jackpot.

All you need to do is land the wild symbol on the 15th payline to trigger the major jackpot. The 15th payline goes in a zig zag format from the bottom left hand corner of the first reel to the middle symbol on the second reel, back to the bottom of the third reel, the middle of the fourth reel and the bottom of the fifth reel. Land the wild symbol in all of these locations and you’ll be up for a few hundred grand, and possibly over a million.

You do need to play the maximum amount of paylines to be in for a chance at the big progressive, but the max bet is really not that high compared to many other games. The biggest win to date was $1.8 million in May 2012 and average win is around £400,000 so it’s well worth a shot.

As a progressive slot this game is high volatility which means it pays out big, but not very often, and you have to bet fairly big to be in with a chance.

Special Features and Bonuses

Major Millions has a few special features to make things more exciting. The main features are the wild symbol that multiplies wins and triggers the main jackpot, and the scatter symbol that can appear anywhere on the reels and give you a win.

Major Millions also has an autoplay feature that’s accessible through expert mode. This lets you keep playing the game without having to do the work yourself. Great if you have to duck off and do something else, or you’re just feeling lazy.

One thing you won’t find are Major Millions free spins unfortunately, as the game just doesn’t have this feature.

Biggest Winner

While there have been a number of big winners on this game recently, the biggest so far has to be $1.8 million won in 2012.

Graphics and Sounds

Major Millions has all the great gameplay you’d expect from a Microgaming slot, without too many bells and whistles.

The military theme stays true throughout with the military marching band sound effects and the Major laughing. Wins are heralded by a drumroll, and overall the experience is one of fun and light-hearted excitement, played out by the cartoon like graphics and bright colour scheme.

Conclusion

Major Millions may not be the biggest progressive out there but it’s fast, fun and simple. The appealing character of the Major and accompanying graphics and sound effects make for a very enjoyable playing experience, and the great jackpots on offer definitely don’t hurt!
